In this article, we show you how to naturally achieve radiant skin, because we understand that you have tried many toners, face masks, and countless products that just don't seem to work. You are not alone. If you are like most people, the first thing you notice when you take a photo of yourself is how your skin looks. Maybe you recently saw a photo of yourself or looked in the mirror and couldn't help but let out a deep *sigh*. That's why we reveal the incredible, science-backed methods to make your skin glow (in a beautiful, non-greasy way).
In this article you will discover:
• Which foods help the skin to glow as quickly as possible• The best way to regulate hormones that control the appearance of the skin• Why the weather affects your skin (and what to do)• A free frozen product that transforms the skin in 30 seconds• The #1 reason why your skin doesn't glow as you would like - and the solution
Surprisingly simple tips for radiant skin...Let's go through these 'make-skin-glow methods' one by one.
What to eat for radiant skinThis is one of our top tips for radiant skin. And while you know that what you eat affects your skin, health, and immune system, there are specific 'healthy' foods that specifically help stimulate the skin and make it glow more. Try incorporating the following foods into your diet:
AvocadoAs the skin ages, many women buy expensive anti-aging creams at the drugstore. But is there also a vegan, non-chemical solution that is very effective? Avocado. Whether on toast or in a smoothie, avocado helps to hydrate and protect the skin – and even helps as protection and healing against sun rays.
SpinachSpinach is packed with vitamins and healthy elements, such as folic acid. This is a vitamin that helps to give the skin a boost making it glow like fireworks.
Sweet potatoesRed and orange vegetables and roots, such as sweet potato, can literally improve the glow of the skin and give a more tanned appearance. According to an academic journal, the glow can even be more radiant than when you have been in the sun. Eat baked potatoes and even in the depths of winter your skin can have a touch of Caribbean vacation.
Pumpkin seedsWhile most of us know the power of leafy greens and avocado, the seeds of pumpkins are powerful food often overlooked. With a high level of zinc, magnesium, and vitamin E, these seeds (delicious when roasted and eaten as a crunchy snack) help regenerate skin cells. As the skin ages, has spent time in the sun, or has been affected by dry air, regeneration helps heal the skin and make it glow again.
TurmericAs an anti-inflammatory, turmeric helps to soothe the skin from inflammations that can be caused by acne, rosacea, eczema, or skin sensitivity. When it is soothed, the skin can glow again.
EggsAlthough egg white omelets contain fewer calories, whole eggs contain vitamins that help achieve radiant skin. Biotin is a vitamin in the yolk known to hydrate the skin more and even stop acne and irritation.
And, one of the best tips for radiant skin? You can eat more of this →Dark chocolate
Thank goodness there is something tasty that contains antioxidants, which keeps the skin strong and thus becomes the perfect snack after eating. (Because you deserve a delicious treat at the end of every day.)
Stop excessive washingTo get radiant skin, most people wash their face even more. It is understandable. After all, when we see skin oils accumulate, it makes sense to think that scrubbing the skin would help to loosen the mess and reveal the beautiful skin underneath.
The truth, however, is that washing too much damages your skin and its appearance. Washing your skin with a facial cleanser, especially an aggressive one, ensures that no natural oils remain on the skin.
Solution: try to use the facial cleanser only at night. Wash your face in the morning with some cold water. (This may seem strange at first, as if your face is not clean enough, but as your skin starts to glow more and more, you will experience the power of this method.)
Know that cloudy days can be harmful While most of us try to use sunscreen on clear, sunny days or beach outings, some decide not to use sunscreen when they see it is a cloudy day. (Especially in the middle of Northern European winters!). However, sun rays can still penetrate and damage the skin, even on cloudy days. Therefore, we recommend using sunscreen or at least a non-chemical makeup with natural sun protection.
Are you getting enough sleep? There are many reasons why your body and brain need more sleep. Although you know you feel better after more sleep, your skin will also drastically improve when you sleep more hours per night. That is why this is one of the essential tips for radiant skin. One reason is that the hormonal system is better regulated when the body gets enough sleep. If that is only 5 or 6 hours per night, the lack of rest can easily throw your hormones out of balance and in turn affect your skin.
Flip overYou don't have to do a handstand, but there are beauty experts who swear by the power of keeping your head down (below your heart and hips) to help improve the skin.
A beautician from Texas, Renee Rouleau, says, "Hanging my head upside down for three minutes a day is my long-term strategy to get that radiant skin."When bent down, the head - which stands upright all day - can receive more blood, resulting in oxygen and extra circulation of nutrients.
Use an ice cubeThis is one of our favorite tips for radiant skin because it is so simple. After you wake up or during your preparation for an event, take an ice cube and move it over and around your face. The cold gives the skin an extra boost - and the cold also reduces inflammation and shrinks pores. (Make sure to do this with circular motions and keep the ice cube moving continuously, not staying too long in one spot.)
Look at your makeupNo matter how much you sleep or always eat well, if heavy chemicals are on your face and stay there for many hours, your skin cannot breathe and therefore cannot glow. Most makeups cover the face with unnatural, pore-clogging ingredients, even if they have beautiful marketing or are approved by famous people on Instagram. The problem? Throughout most of the 20th and 21st century, companies have discovered that chemicals make makeup cheaper to produce and sell - so they can make even more profit. However, a movement for natural makeup is starting to take over the world - more and more people see that natural makeup can be just as effective as the brands they are used to.
With fragrances that no longer irritate the skin, no longer 'caking' so quickly, and our top tips for radiant skin, you will see that non-chemical makeup makes the difference.
The #1 solution to get radiant skin? The most effective solution is to choose a natural, vegan makeup that lets the skin breathe...
Do you know everything about Vegan Make-up?
We have created a clear guide
Although vegan makeup is becoming increasingly popular, many people are still skeptical and have many questions about switching from well-known brands that you can find in stores and on Vogue's pages. However, there are many questions that are not asked, whether it concerns a vegan make-up or foundation that is called 'natural'. Therefore, we have created a clear guide:
• Why a brand can be vegan - and yet very unethical• How vegan makeup can be just as effective as other foundation, lipsticks, and eyeliner• The #1 myth about natural makeup that isn't true• Laws that have affected millions of makeup buyers
1 - Facts about animal friendliness that are shocking but trueWhile vegan makeup means that no animal products are used, companies can have a vegan product that is still, heartbreakingly, tested on animals.
• Even if a country has a law against animal testing, this does not mean that all products from a company are "animal-friendly."In England, for example, it is legally prohibited to test cosmetics on animals within the country itself. However, there are large makeup companies that sell products in England ... that test their products on animals in other countries around the world.
• Until 2019, China legally required cosmetics to be tested on animals. Yes, legally required.Because 20% of all sales of beauty products take place in China, this was therefore a huge amount of beauty products that were in any case not produced in an animal-friendly way.
It has been confirmed that 9 laws will be amended so that by 2020 animal testing will no longer be necessary.
Although the laws are changing, the change is very recent, so there are many companies, especially those selling in China, where it will probably take a while before their testing processes are adjusted. (Fortunately, there are great foundations that are vegan and cruelty-free.)
2 - Companies can claim their makeup is 'natural' You try to buy natural foods at the supermarket. Spinach. Apples. Potatoes. Although your shopping basket does not only contain natural products, you try to fill it as much as possible with these kinds of products. That's because you know the power of ingredients derived from the earth - instead of packaged products soaked in processed chemicals and artificial additives.
(It's like the difference between a gummy candy with strawberry flavor and a ripe, juicy strawberry sprinkled with honey.)
When choosing natural makeup, it can be difficult because many brands claim that their product is natural. However, the word natural has an extensive definition. A product can be natural and still contain all kinds of additives. For example, there is a large retailer who says that their product contains the best botanical ingredients but actually contains as many as 1,078 different ingredients.
Yes, some common makeup products contain more than 100 or even more than 1000 ingredients.Usually, not all of so many ingredients will be natural. Therefore, it is vital to choose a natural makeup with only a few pure ingredients.
3 - Natural makeup does not translate to 'healthy' Although the term sounds naturally good, remember that there are powerful elements on earth that occur naturally ... but are bad for you. Lead. Arsenic.
These deadly compounds are literally natural, but that doesn't necessarily mean they are healthy. Although you probably won't find toxic arsenic in makeup, there are other elements that may be lurking. Make sure the following does not apply to the makeup you buy:
• It contains perfumes (this may sound natural, but can hide many chemicals)• Parabens (these are known to cause skin irritation)• Vague or general words to hide harmful ingredients• Parabens (these are known to cause skin irritation)• Vague or general words to hide harmful ingredients
4 – It turns out that vegan doesn't necessarily mean 'hippie' For a long time, people associated the term vegan with 'tie-dye' dressed people who eat wheatgrass and use plants with 'medicinal' properties. While living a natural lifestyle can mean drinking herbal tea after a yoga class, vegan food and products are simply things that do not use animal products. So there doesn't have to be a negative connotation.
Vegan products are often just as good, if not better, than their counterparts full of chemicals. In fact, the best vegan products are made in very modern production facilities and must be handled with extra care - because there are far fewer fake additives that can be thrown in as a patch.
5 - Products can be subtly non-veganIn the supermarket, picking out vegan products among the non-vegan products is much easier than with make-up. Beef versus tempehCheese versus tofuWhipped cream versus dark dark chocolate
By comparing these side by side, choices become much easier if you want to switch from animal products.
However, when we look at makeup packaging, the process is more difficult because it is not clear what an animal product is. To help you choose non-animal ingredients, here are a few top terms you should remember and avoid: squalane: This can be found in some creams or liquid foundations - and it comes from shark liver oil. Stearic acid: Many cosmetics contain this ingredient, which is used to cleanse the product, and it comes from animal fat. Guanine: Comes from the scales or skin of fish, often used as a color that provides pigment in cosmetics.
6 - There are different types of natural makeup, which are NOT the sameJust as you can choose from different types of tea every morning (Earl Grey? Peppermint? Oolong?), there are different types of vegan makeup.
• Liquid foundation make-ups that contain only vegan ingredients.→ This contains ingredients such as essential oils, bamboo, coconut alkanes, aloe leaf juice, and hyaluronic acid.
• Pressed powder, which can have different types of bases.→ There are many types of powders, such as those with shea butter, various essential oil bases
• Mineral makeup.→ This type of makeup uses minerals. It is found in both pressed powder and loose powder, as well as products like eyeliner pencils and lipsticks.
The reason we are such fans of mineral makeup as an alternative to vegan beauty? Mineral makeup is one of the least processed types of makeup. It is true that bamboo and aloe are beautiful vegan ingredients, but they still need to be processed and transformed to become a makeup ingredient - especially when you take a gel like aloe and turn it into a powder. It is similar to the difference between eating raw spinach versus having a powder mix with dehydrated spinach powder.
While minerals are nicely placed in a container to then be applied to the skin, they are still (as long as the brand does it well) an authentic, real mineral product that is very close to their original form.
7 - If you choose mineral makeup, make sure the base is MicaWhen you choose mineral makeup, make sure the main ingredient is MICA.
Why?Mica is a natural makeup derived from the highest quality mineral compounds and will fall lightly yet effectively on the skin.
8 - Know that the term 'talk' does not make the product a good mineral makeupNow that you have heard about mineral makeup and have become interested in trying it, we want to confirm that there is an ingredient that can make certain products appear mineral.Talk.
Technically, Talk is a mineral, but it does not adhere to the skin in the same smooth, long-lasting way that real mineral makeup does.
9 - The best about high-quality, vegan makeupMany traditional makeup brands invest most resources in marketing, international magazines, and photoshoots with supermodels, so the product costs are often high due to expenses on top of the product - not the foundation or eyeliner itself. Because the internet makes awareness and shopping so much easier, it has become much easier to connect with great brands with prices that do not stem from marketing budgets of millions of dollars.
A fantastic example? → This incredibly high-quality yet affordable mineral makeup

Wondering what non-comedogenic means?
Search no more
If you are like most women, you have probably heard the term. But you don't know exactly what it is or why you would want it in your makeup? To help you, we have created this blog. We will explain:
• What non-comedogenic makeup really means (and which makeup does NOT qualify)• How to look through the lists of "try this!" on the internet• That getting to know a product in an easy way is NOT ideal.
Let's first define non-comedogenic makeup According to Joshua Zeichner, MD, director of cosmetic and clinical research at Mount Sinai Hospital, "non-comedogenic is a term used to describe a product that does not clog pores and promote acne." Essentially, any foundation made to not clog pores or prevent pimples is labeled as non-comedogenic.
Are you ready to find the right foundation and makeup that helps reduce acne or prevent blackheads (comedones)? Then keep reading!
Who should use non-comedogenic products? This type of makeup is ideal for anyone with sensitive and/or troubled skin. This non-clogging type of product makes a huge difference for skin that tends to break out or become irritated. It is also fantastic for both dry and oily skin types, as it contains no chemicals that negatively affect either skin type.
Have you heard this other important (but scary) term, acnegenic?Acnegene ingredients are quick triggers for pimples.
These are products that sit on your face and can cause skin problems within a day. What is almost worse are comedogenic ingredients. Why? Comedogenic ingredients are the type of ingredients that you use here and there but can cause acne in the long term. The buildup can take several months - and can then lead from comedones (blackheads) to pimples. Because the process can take months, pimples can suddenly appear and - understandably - you have no idea where the acne or troubled skin is coming from.
Avoiding comedogenic ingredients helps - and this is how you do it.
Which ingredients are non-comedogenic (and which are)When we want to switch to a non-comedogenic foundation and other products, we must confirm that products can still contain ingredients such as oils. For example, there are essential oils that are considered non-comedogenic - although many of us have been taught to walk away as soon as the term oil is mentioned.
Why?While some oils clog the skin, other oils help nourish the face and hydrate the skin. When nourished, the skin can replenish healthy cells and experiences less irritation from dryness.
Which ingredients to avoid (including healthy-sounding vegan ingredients)There are chemical ingredients that you should best avoid, as well as ingredients that SOUND healthy but clog acne-prone skin. Often it is good to avoid ingredients that clog pores:
• Algae• Seaweed• Coconut butter• Coconut oil• Sulfated jojoba oil (non-sulfated can be good!)• Sodium chloride• Terms ending with elements such as Isopropyl Isostearate, Isopropyl Myristate & Isopropyl Palmitate
The best non-comedogenic makeup ingredientsAlthough coconut oil can be great for cooking, this oil can be bad to leave on the skin for a long time – it can slowly build up and cause more and more acne. Fortunately, there are other fantastic natural foundation products and makeup products with ingredients that are safe for skin types that are sensitive to acne. Examples of these are:
• Willow bark extract• Zinc oxide• Minerals• Witch hazel extract• Chamomile extract• Safflower oil
The #1 mistakes when choosing makeupMost people choose makeup by looking at reviews, prices, and the label - especially when it comes to a flashy, well-known, or designer brand that your friends or family love. The problem is that these sources often do not take the ingredients into account. It doesn't matter how expensive or luxurious a brand is, if a makeup contains chemicals or seaweed or other comedogenic ingredients, it can be a very bad makeup choice for someone prone to pimples. And because the buildup can take months, most people don't even realize that it is the makeup they bought 3 months earlier... that is causing these problems.
The best way to find the right non-comedogenic foundationIn addition to reading the ingredients and ensuring they match the lists above, here are some other ways to determine which makeup is a fantastic choice for you.
• Pay attention to the NUMBER of ingredientsBesides looking at what is used, you see that some makeup (even non-comedogenic foundation) contains 6 ingredients ... while others have 20, 40. The simpler a product, the easier your skin can handle it.
• Try the foundation to see how your skin feelsMakeup companies that truly believe in their product create sample packages at a low price, so you can experience them yourself. The perfect tactic is to see how your skin feels (light? Heavy? Fresh?) after trying a test kit of a natural, non-comedogenic makeup.
• Read real customer reviewsWhen we say read reviews, we do not mean articles from international publications. Keep in mind that many of these websites are paid or their staff have received free products to get a spot in the article. The most important thing is to read real 'verified' reviews from the website or external sellers.
Remember this above allWhen selecting a non-comedogenic makeup, try to keep the ingredient list as short as possible. This is one of the absolute top indicators that the makeup is in the purest, gentlest form possible.
Try a → completely natural, vegan makeup (with a short ingredient list)
How can your eyebrows enhance your appearance?
We help you!
Eyes may be the window to the soul, but you need a good frame to support them. That's where good eyebrows come into play.Eyebrows frame your face and change your face in a few seconds, and here at Mineralissima we want to help you achieve the (for you) perfect eyebrow shape when using makeup, so we take you through the different ways you can shape and fill in your eyebrows, so they are always 'on fleek'.
Let's talk about the eyebrow shapeThin or thick, fluffy or structured... Whatever eyebrow shape you naturally have, the products you use should enhance it. It's not a problem if your eyebrows aren't as full as you'd like, because this is where we come to the rescue.
One thing to remember: You can always add more product, but it is somewhat harder to remove it! Of course, this depends on the method and product of your choice. When choosing the color of the product, try to select something lighter than the color of your eyebrow hair, so that it blends well and seamlessly.
The tools you need to expertly shape and draw your eyebrows
• A good brush, like our angled eyebrow brush, specially made for powder and mineral products. Our customers love this brush for their eyebrows because it helps them achieve the perfect shape every time with minimal effort.• A spoolie or old (clean) mascara brush, to brush the eyebrows before, during, and after applying your product of choice. This is actually just like your trusted blending brush that you need when doing your eye makeup.• Eyebrow setting product; nowadays there are many that meet all different kinds of needs. You can use a clear gel, a colored/tinted gel, and even soap! If you are intrigued by the soap method, read more about it below.
How to shape your eyebrowsBefore we take you through all the ways to achieve the perfect eyebrow shape with the different products, it is essential to start with a good base. In this case, a neat eyebrow shape that suits your face and features. If you have your eyebrows done professionally, chances are you already have a pretty good idea of your ideal shape. However, if you usually do them yourself, read our tips below to tweeze your eyebrows to perfection.
EpilationFirst make sure your eyebrows and tweezers are clean and free of any product. If you're afraid to have your eyebrows done alone, you can order an eyebrow stencil to get an idea of your perfect shape. Before you start removing stray hairs, it's important to see what is truly stray and what should stay.
Take a pencil/pen and an eyebrow pencil, start by holding it on the side of each nostril to see where your eyebrow should begin and lightly mark it with your eyebrow pencil. Then move the pencil/pen to connect your nostril, over your eye, and onto your eyebrow - this is where your arch should be. Finally, move the pencil/pen slightly away from the previous point to see where your eyebrow should end. This is a general trick to find the perfect shape for you, but you may have other preferences (e.g., a straighter arch) and that's okay!
It is very important to remember: even a single eyebrow hair can change the entire eyebrow shape, so it is better to start slowly than to remove more than you should! Start first from the middle of the eyebrows and then underneath. We recommend not removing hairs from the lower part at the front of the eyebrow, as it is better to leave that to expert hands.
The products you need for the perfect eyebrow shape
EYEBROW PENCILEyebrow pencil is probably the easiest way to shape your eyebrows, especially if you are a beginner. Start with the lightest touch and make small hair-like strokes going upwards. We recommend trying it out on the back of your hand first if you are a complete beginner, so you get a better feel for the product.
Once you are familiar with your small hair-like strokes, brush your eyebrow hairs upward with your spoolie or eyelash brush and fill in the sparse areas of your eyebrows, starting at the front. Hold the eyebrow pencil at an angle almost parallel to your skin, so you don't apply more pressure than necessary. Remember that a light hand is extremely important when drawing your eyebrows.
Our eyebrow pencil comes in three shades; light, medium, and dark, and it is soft yet firm. Choose your color by matching it to your hair color; light is suitable for light blonde, medium is great for dark blonde and light brown hair, and dark is for medium to dark brown hair.
EYEBROW POWDERAs a mineral cosmetic brand, powders are our specialty, our compact eyebrow powder is long-lasting and not smudgy. It is almost impossible to use this incorrectly! Of course, it is a vegan, mineral formula carefully pressed into a powder for ease of use.
To shape your eyebrows with the eyebrow powder, brush your eyebrows upward and then take the angled eyebrow brush, lightly dip it into the powder, and slowly draw with hair-like strokes in an upward motion. Start at the front of the eyebrow and slowly move towards the end. Brush your eyebrows again to seamlessly blend the powder and you're done! You can then add a setting product of your choice if needed.
Our eyebrow powder comes in three shades that match your hair color; light for light to medium blonde hair, medium is a taupe shade suitable for light to medium brown hair, and dark is a darker espresso color for dark brown and black hair. Remember to always choose a shade lighter than your eyebrow hair to ensure the color blends nicely and looks natural.
POWDER BROWSThe Define Eyebrow Powder is our hero product when it comes to eyebrow shaping, we have perfected our vegan, cruelty-free, mineral formula over the years and this is clearly our hero eyebrow product. This is also the best option if you prefer a more natural, lightly defined eyebrow look, as the superfine powder smoothly blends your eyebrow hairs in.
To shape your eyebrows with the eyebrow powder, brush your eyebrows upward and take the angled eyebrow brush, pour a very small amount of powder onto the product's cap and dip your brush into it. Fill in the sparse areas as desired with light strokes.
This product comes in four shades, the light one is for blondes and mousy brown hair, the medium is perfect for brown hair, and the dark one is suitable for darker hair and darker skin tones. We also have a black one if your hair is black, and that is a special 2-in-1 product; it can also be used as eyeliner. Just take some of the powder with a damp eyeliner brush and slowly draw your cat-eye flicks with it.
SOAP BROWSSoap can be used to set eyebrows, whichever product you use to draw and shape them. All you need is a transparent piece of soap, something that is almost transparent. A favorite among the beauty community is Pear's soap.
Then take your spoolie or eyelash brush, wet it with a little water or setting spray and pick up some of the soap, enough to coat the brush. Start brushing your eyebrows upwards or sideways, depending on the desired final look. Once you've found the desired shape, 'push' the eyebrow up into place with your finger to set it and ensure it stays put as long as possible.
You can use the Soap Brows technique before or after filling in your eyebrows. It is suitable for all eyebrow shapes and the perfect technique if you want to achieve the 'fluffy' eyebrow, beautifully unshaped, but stays in place well!
Is your skin oily and does makeup feel like it slides off?
We have the solution for you
Is your skin oily and does makeup feel like it slides off? Are you tired of having to powder your face every hour of the day? Fear not, we have the solution for you to help achieve a longer-lasting and more beautiful makeup result. Applying makeup when you have oily skin becomes easier and faster once you apply these tricks.
What is oily skin?Let's quickly address the 'why' of oily skin? Oil (or sebum) naturally occurs in the skin from the sebaceous glands, but some people have a higher production than others. Often, people with oily skin tend to have acne because the overproduction of sebum can clog the pores, leading to pimples.
If you have shiny skin, you may feel that the skin becomes oily very easily, especially towards the end of the day, even after you have cleansed your skin. The oil is not necessarily bad - although it can sometimes feel annoying - but its purpose is to protect and hydrate your skin (which is the same for your hair if your hair becomes oily).
You can also have oily/combination skin, which means that some parts of your face are oily and others are normal or dry. The techniques we are going to mention apply to both skin types, but you may need to combine or adjust them to better suit your personal skin.
Makeup for oily skinLet's focus on the makeup you can use and how to apply it to make it last longer and look better.
Mineral makeup is actually perfect for all skin types and conditions, and it is also perfect for oily skin because it balances the sebum and keeps your skin matte for longer. Mineralissima's mineral makeup is very finely milled, so it is ultra-light and does not feel heavy on your skin. The most common problem is staying shine-free for as long as possible, so we will go through the different products you can use and how to apply them in your makeup routine.
Preparing the skin is important!Preparing your skin for makeup is super important, especially if you have oily skin, because this will help you apply your makeup.
• Cleanse your skin in the morning as you normally would and apply an oil-free moisturizer or a gel cream that does not feel heavy on the skin.• Follow up with your sunscreen, perhaps a mattifying sunscreen is preferable on makeup days, so it doesn't make your face even more oily.
Something to remember: Do not use aggressive alcohol-based skincare products to eliminate skin oil. Alcohol dries out the skin and disrupts your hydration balance. Avoid excessive rubbing on areas where the skin shines a lot. The friction causes extra sebum production.
If you are acne-prone and a bit afraid of oils, there are all kinds of non-comedogenic (which means they do not clog pores) oils you can try, such as rosehip, squalane, grape seed, neem, and hemp seed oil.
Primer for oily skinThe way you prepare your skin for makeup is very important. In the morning, you might use a gel moisturizer or an oil-free moisturizer that is a bit lighter. You can avoid your T-zone, which is the area above the eyebrows down to the nose (forming a 'T' shape), if you have particularly oily skin.
After your cream, start with the Mineral Rice Primer Shine solution.
This primer contains a mixture of rice powder and kaolin. Kaolin is a type of clay. Rice is particularly useful for absorbing moisture. Preferably apply the primer with our mineral powder brush to the parts of the face that tend to shine.
For the truly ultimate shine control, after your day cream has absorbed, dab the T-zone with our oil-absorbing blotting sheets, then apply the Mineral Rice Primer.
The high-quality blotting papers from Mineralissima are made based on green tea, which balances your skin and removes excess oil. Take a blotting paper and dab it over your T-zone, or other oily areas (such as nose, cheeks) that you want to mattify. You can optionally repeat this step twice, each time using a new paper. Once the excess oil is removed, you can then apply your special finishing powder with a fluffy powder brush.By first removing the oil, you achieve the most natural result possible. Moreover, the pack of 50 blotting papers is compact and fits easily in your pocket or bag and can even be used without a mirror. It may even be unnecessary to powder; you might find that the blotting paper already provides a stunning result.
Do you possibly suffer from oily eyelids? Then you may also experience problems with the longevity of your eye makeup. To prevent this, you also prepare your eyelids with the Mineral Rice Primer and/or the oil-absorbing blotting papers, which makes the eye makeup you apply last longer and not smudge. If desired, you can also sprinkle a little of your foundation over the powder with a small fluffy brush.
Foundation for oily skinThe next step is your foundation and you're in luck, because the Mineralissima Mineral foundations are quite mattifying. You can use the same makeup brush that you used to apply the primer. Start by applying the foundation to the parts of your face that tend to get oilier (such as forehead, nose, cheeks), then blend the foundation over the rest of your face. You might want to apply a second layer on the T-zone.
Our foundations can be built up in thin layers and are made to feel light on the skin, so you can apply more than one layer if you prefer fuller coverage.
Finishing touch for oily skinIf you have oily skin, you are familiar with the need for an ultimate powder and probably always carry one with you!
To keep your face and skin matte for longer, using a Finishing Powder is extremely suitable. Just like our primer, this powder contains a mix of rice powder and kaolin. Both of these ingredients absorb excess skin oil, so you have an oil-free skin for longer. Here too, you can use the same mineral powder brush, and for a more even light coverage, the fluffy powder brush is your best choice. You might want to apply multiple layers, depending on your skin and how oily it gets.
Depending on your skin tone, you can choose the Rice Veil Intense matte or our Oil Control Powder. These finely milled powders are available for skin tones from light to light tinted.
Touching up makeup for oily skinAfter you have followed all the steps we just went through with you, it might be a good idea to keep another product in your bag for touch-ups throughout the day.
If you're on the go, you might feel the need to powder your face during the day when it gets oily. We don't blame you! But before you do that—pause for a moment and use the Blotting Paper first! Those handy little sheets we just talked about.
You might be wondering how a piece of blotting paper can help you instead of powder? It's a good question, powder is made to absorb excess oil, but the trick is to use both products (powder and blotting paper), but start first with the blotting paper.
This is the ultimate method to combat stubborn oily skin! These steps will simultaneously ensure that your makeup lasts longer, because the oiliness can break down your makeup! Once you start incorporating these steps and products, you will quickly discover that makeup for oily skin is much easier to achieve than you might have thought!

You apply this on the prominent points, maybe also the tip of the nose, or you can even apply a very small amount all over the face.
You can also use a (matte) bronzer to shape the face, or in other words, contour. Whether you are a fan of contouring or not, it is always good to have a trusted bronzer in your collection.
The bronzer colorsThe ideal bronzer color should be 1 to 2 shades darker than your skin tone to ensure it stands out and creates some contrast. Check out our handy overview to see which color suits your skin description.
Are you going for a summer glow? Then for a light skin, our Mineral Bronzer Sunkissed is a beautiful option. Our popular bronzer Ibiza is the bestseller for light-medium skin tones. If you have a medium skin tone, you are always safe with bronzer Samui. If you want optical adjustments to the face, then use a bronzer without shimmer based on your undertone. For example, the natural bronzers Jetsetter and Laguna are great choices in compact form. Because these are (semi) matte, they are suitable for both contouring and bronzing. These lightweight compact powders are suitable for light and medium skin tones and can be layered for intensity. All bronzers we develop are cruelty-free, vegan, and contain no parabens or chemicals.
Placement and tips for applying bronzerYou can apply bronzer in a few ways, depending on the final look you want.
The 3 shape is a classic trick to discover where you can apply the bronzer. A simpler and most chosen trick is the C-shape; the cheeks combined with the forehead. The little bump near your ear is the starting point here. Blend this out along the cheekbone and along the temples towards the forehead. This gives you the most natural bronzing look.
Insider tip: If you want a daily makeup look without looking made up (a 'no makeup look'), you can use a fluffy eyeshadow brush to apply a little bronzer on your eyelids. This creates a beautiful natural shadow look.
The best makeup brushFor a more defined contour, the best brush for applying bronzer is the Angled Bronzer/Contour brush. For a lighter, airier look, you can choose the Fluffy powder brush.
The applicationPick up a small amount of the bronzer from the lid with the hairs of your brush. Start with a little powder, because ‘a little bit goes a long way’. Apply it to the desired areas and add extra layers if needed to build up the color intensity.

Blusher
Did you know that you only need three things to look more awake in the morning?1. Mascara, 2. a bit of highlight at the inner corner of the eye, and yes - you guessed it - blusher!A pink (or orange) flush on your cheeks gives your face a fresh look and makes you appear more awake.
Blusher gives us a healthy and younger appearance. Get that fresh, energetic look that you can't achieve with (just) a bronzer. It is a great item to have in your makeup bag. With a small touch on your cheeks, you easily bring life back to your face.
Remember that our blushers are free from bismuth, nanoparticles, fragrances, cruelty, and parabens.
The colors of the blushersAs you can see, we have a beautiful collection of blush colors suitable for different skin tones. So you will easily be able to choose a color that suits you, whatever you are looking for!
Depending on your complexion and undertone, a beautiful selection is available for you to choose from. The fresh color of Mineral blusher Cheeky is very popular for light-medium skin tones. With Bliss blush, almost everyone can get started. And for our fans of compact blushers, you have the choice of 2 colors, Dollface and Hello Dolly, which are easy to use and can be beautifully built up in color intensity.
Placement and tips for applying blushWhen it comes to application, the most classic tip you've probably heard is to smile and apply the blusher on the prominent part of our cheeks, but that's not the only way. Placement is important because it changes how your face looks and it can really make or break your makeup look.
You can of course apply it directly to the apples of your cheeks by looking straight into the mirror. Smile if you're unsure, but you can also find the position when your face is at rest. Remember to always make an upward motion towards your temples or ears when applying.
This creates a younger, fresher, lifted look. Give it a try! And you can even apply some blusher on the tip of your nose for a playful, youthful appearance.
The tips we mention here regarding the application of blush apply to all face shapes. But if your face shape is long; apply the blush horizontally over the cheekbones to balance it and create width in the middle of the face.
Insider tip: never apply lower than the apples of your cheeks, because that can make your face look saggy.
The best makeup brushWhen it comes to the best brush, there are a few options. The mineral powder brush is a good choice for applying mineral blushes. For a more defined blush color, we recommend the Blush brush, after which the most beautiful, natural result can be achieved by blending with our kabuki brush.
The applicationBecause the mineral powders are super pigmented, you only need a small amount of the blush powder. We recommend shaking the jar, closed with the black lid, briefly and using the powder that remains in the lid. Lightly dab the hairs of the chosen blush brush into the powder and you can start applying it to the face.

Choosing and applying concealers and color correctors
The step-by-step guide
What is the difference between concealers and color correctors? Which one should you use and why? How do you choose the right color and what is the best way to apply them? In this blog post, we answer all your questions about concealers and color correctors...
Concealers and color correctors can work like a magic wand when it comes to hiding imperfections and achieving a flawless look. But if you don't know which one to use, how to choose the right color, and how to apply them, both products can be practically useless. Worse, you might end up ruining your makeup instead of enhancing it.
Let's explain without further delay what concealers and color correctors do and how you can easily achieve the best results.
This is what you will find in this blog post:

COLOR CORRECTORS
What are color correctors?Color correctors come in various rainbow shades - yellow, orange, purple, pink, and green. If you ever mistook them for eyeshadow or blusher, don't be embarrassed. Until not too long ago, color correctors were only used by professional makeup artists, but nowadays they are widely available for every woman.
Color correctors can conceal and neutralize unwanted skin issues. Think of dark circles, spots, scars, sunspots, and age spots, as well as severe eczema flare-ups, such as rosacea or acne - this is what color correctors can help you camouflage.
Correctors work on the principle that opposite colors cancel each other out. For example, a green concealer will hide red spots, while an orange/salmon-colored concealer neutralizes blue/gray circles.
Which color corrector is suitable for you?
To find out which color you need, you first have to determine the exact color of the problem, while also taking your overall skin tone into account. The next step is to use the color wheel (shown below) to find out which color will conceal the blemish. Finally, do not choose a color that is more than one or two shades lighter than your own skin tone.
To simplify this even further and help you take the guesswork out, the guide below can serve as your go-to reference for various conditions.
Green color correctorPerfect for: redness, acne, and rosaceaGreen is the color that minimizes and conceals red and pink tones, such as pimples, rosacea, or acne, or other skin conditions with strawberry tones.
Our recommended product is: Foliage
Salmon color correctorPerfect for: women with an olive complexion and dark circles under the eyes.If you struggle with circles under your eyes and have bluish/gray circles around the eyes, choose a peach-colored corrector that neutralizes the unwanted circles.
Our recommended product is: Papaya
Pink color correctorPerfect for: women with light or medium skin and dull dark/shadow under the eyes.Choose a pink corrector if your skin tone is lighter and you want to brighten dull circles under your eyes.
Our recommended product is: Rose
Orange color correctorPerfect for: women with a dark complexion and dark circles under the eyesIf you struggle with dark circles under your eyes and your complexion is darker, choose an orange or peach-colored corrector that hides the uneven undertones.
Our recommended product is: Amber concealer
Yellow color corrector
Perfect for: purple-tinted problems and circles under the eyesThe yellow corrector neutralizes purple tones, whether it is pimples, dark bruises, veins, dark circles under the eyes, hyperpigmentation, or age spots.
Purple color correctorPerfect for: pale and dull skin, yellow undertones, olive-colored bruisesIf your complexion is very pale or has many yellow undertones, choose a concealer in lavender tones. You can also use it to cover yellow spots or olive-colored bruises.
How to apply a color correctorUsing the right shade plays the biggest role in solving your problem, but you also need to know how to apply your corrector in a way that truly conceals issues. Here are a few tips on how to achieve that:
Apply your color corrector in thin layers
If you overdo it and end up with thick layers, the corrector can show through under your foundation. The area will then appear lighter in color, and it becomes more difficult to achieve an even tone after applying the foundation.
Our tip is therefore to apply the product in thin layers.
Use the correct application method
For applying our mineral powder concealer, we have some favorite brushes available. Around the eyes, we use a smaller brush with a tip for the smaller corners. For the larger areas, we use a larger flat brush. Due to the firm bristles, the coverage will be higher. The goal is not to achieve coverage for the entire face, but only to conceal the problem areas and nothing more.
Our recommended product is:Around the eyes, the angled concealer brushLarger areas, the flat concealer brush
What the experts adviseKeep in mind that color correctors can change the color of the problem, but they cannot magically make it less visible if it is raised or hollow - for that, it is better to use a regular concealer.
Even more importantly, if you don't have any of the problems mentioned above, daily use of a color corrector would be unnecessary, as it adds too many layers to your makeup. Women with healthy skin are better off choosing a regular concealer for daily use and reserving the color corrector for special occasions when they really need that perfect finish.

CONCEALERS
What are concealers?
Concealers come in shades that match your skin tone and are meant to blend with your skin and foundation. You can regularly use concealers as part of your daily makeup routine to brighten a stressed, tired-looking complexion and to highlight the high points of your face - under the eyes, the bridge of the nose, the center of the forehead, and the chin. If you use the concealer well, you can achieve a flawless, radiant look with depth and a smooth finish.
Our Skin Fix concealers also have the property of reducing the appearance of unwanted skin discolorations, such as pimples, red spots, dark circles, scars, and pigmentation spots.
Which concealer is suitable for you?
The colors in our range can be chosen based on skin tone – Light, Medium and Tanned.
The key to choosing the best concealer is finding the right shade. Choose the wrong color and the concealer will stand out and accentuate the problems instead of fading and hiding them. For blemishes, choose a shade that matches your complexion; if it is too light, it may not hide imperfections but rather make them stand out. For the under-eye areas, choose a shade that is no more than one or two shades lighter than your own skin – this achieves a radiant effect. If your skin tans easily in the summer, make sure to have a separate concealer for the sunnier seasons of the year.
The texture of our Skin Fix concealers is lighter and creamier. This makes these powders have a perfect texture for under your eyes. Dry and thick concealers can crease and cake under the eye, especially if your age shows in your fine lines. Thicker textures are more suitable for younger ladies. Fortunately, our concealers are suitable for every skin and age.
How to apply concealers
You can apply the concealer above your cheekbones, in the middle of your forehead, in the middle of your chin, and along the bridge of your nose, and of course under the eyes. In short, focus on the areas that the concealer needs to brighten and accentuate.
Clean well
It may sound like a no-brainer, but both dermatologists and makeup artists agree that proper cleansing is crucial. Removing makeup residue with the right products, washing your skin daily with water (and not just moist wipes or micellar water), and occasionally exfoliating are the most important steps you need to take before applying anything.
Hydrate and prepare your skin
Before you reach for the concealer, apply the base of your choice, such as your moisturizing cream, primer, moisturizer, and any BB or CC cream.
Apply the concealer
Apply your concealer with gentle dabbing motions on the correct area. With our Skin Fix concealers, we have found that the Allround Tapered makeup brush works very well. You can also use the tip of a slightly damp makeup sponge. With the sponge, you can build up a thicker coverage and control the amount of product.
Apply your foundation to the relevant area with gentle dabbing, otherwise the two will blend too much - and the concealer will lose its effect. When working on the under-eye area, start by applying concealer close to the tear duct, otherwise it can accumulate in fine lines.
Don't exaggerate
Start by applying a very small amount of powder. You can always add more coverage if needed.
Pro tips: You can conceal a hollow scar with an angled brush dipped in a concealer that is one shade lighter than your skin tone. Fill in the center of the stain without going over the edges. To hide a raised scar, use a concealer that matches your skin tone and dab it onto the scar. For both types of scars, use a translucent powder to set the concealer.
What the experts advise:
The skin under your eyes is naturally drier, thinner, and more delicate than the rest of your face, and therefore requires extra care and special attention. Avoid using too much foundation or concealer powder under the eyes to prevent buildup in the fine lines, which makes them look even more pronounced.
For very heavy dark circles under the eyes, it is better to use a color corrector, because a concealer can give your eyes a gray and ashen appearance. However, when using a color corrector, it is advisable to apply a foundation over it. If this is not desired, the Skin Fix concealer is sufficient.

Discover our range of foundations for all skin types
And see which type works best for your skin
Choosing the right foundation can sometimes feel overwhelming. If you buy the wrong lipstick color, you can simply wipe it off and apply another color. But it's never that simple with your foundation, because it can determine your entire look and also how your skin feels all day. That's why it's crucial to choose the product that fits you perfectly.
To help you, we have created this small guide for our mineral foundations , which gives you an overview of everything you need to know - the main differences, which skin type suits each foundation best, the desired coverage, and more. Before we proceed, you should know that you can always order one of our testers first to see how the product works on your skin before purchasing a full-size version.
Let's dive into it now.
Loose powder foundationsOur loose mineral powder foundation is a classic and indispensable in your makeup bag. With it, you can apply glamour on the go without feeling—or looking like—you are wearing makeup (as long as you don't overdo it, of course). Thanks to the excellent pigmentation and buildable coverage, the result is matte and flawless.
Preservatives, parabens, fragrances, and all other synthetic junk are simply banned from our recipes. Thanks to the natural ingredients, our loose mineral powders are hypoallergenic and non-comedogenic, making them the best friend for your sensitive skin.
AdvantagesIf you have oily or combination skin, loose powder foundations are the ideal choice for you. Their absorbing properties take up excess skin oil without clogging pores or causing pimples. Their light-reflecting pigments and lightweight formula ensure that your skin looks natural without becoming too powdery or heavy.
DisadvantagesLoose powder foundations are not the best choice for very heavy makeup; and they may not be as effective in camouflaging large blemishes or imperfections, unlike our 2-in-1 foundations.
Coverage and finishingFor light to medium coverage, you can choose from several colors that suit different skin tones and undertones. With loose powder foundations, you can easily achieve a breathable, matte finish.
Shelf lifeLoose foundations generally have a shorter wear time on the skin than liquid variants. Especially with oilier skin or a sweaty day, a touch-up during the day can be nice.
ApplicationUse a large makeup brush (such as our Kabuki brush, our mineral powder brush, or for the best coverage, our Perfect Coverage brush) and apply lightly to the desired areas. Mineral foundations are buildable, so you can apply the powder in layers to achieve the desired coverage. Apply evenly, focusing on the areas of the skin that produce excess oil, as loose powders are very suitable for oilier skin.
Liquid foundationsThanks to their light texture, mineral liquid foundations effortlessly blend with your skin and create a seamless base. Best of all, they provide your skin with extra hydration that you don't find in powder foundations. All pigments are coated with an amino acid, ensuring long-lasting, waterproof coverage with a smooth finish.
Add to that the anti-inflammatory and anti-aging properties and you have a foundation that is as natural as your own skin. And as with all our products, we have removed parabens, silicones, mineral oils, and synthetic fragrances, along with other chemical nonsense, from the ingredient list. Enriched with unprocessed, natural ingredients known for their homeopathic properties and antioxidants, our liquid foundations ensure your face looks silky soft and radiant without becoming too oily.
AdvantagesWhat distinguishes the liquid foundations from our other variants are their moisturizing properties, making them the perfect choice for people with dry skin (or combination skin types that are prone to dry areas or dry periods).
DisadvantagesIf you have oily skin, you might be better off choosing a loose powder option, or use one of our powders for special needs, such as the Rice Primer Shine Solution or Rice Veil intense matte/ Oil control powder.
Coverage and finishThe liquid foundation can be applied using your fingers, a sponge, or a brush to achieve the desired coverage level, ranging from sheer to medium and full coverage. Their natural, skin-like finish can appear dewy or satin, giving your skin a healthy glow and a radiant finish that doesn't look cakey.
Shelf lifeSometimes you need makeup that goes that extra step. Whether you're preparing for an intense business trip or a wedding that lasts all night, our long-lasting liquid foundations withstand all activities without needing much touch-up. Thanks to their waterproof formula, they also last long under all weather conditions.
ApplicationThe liquid foundation can be applied with your fingers, a sponge, or a brush. The formula is easy to blend and can be evenly distributed over the face.
2 in 1 Compact powder foundationThe 2-in-1 formula means that our pressed powder foundations can be used as a concealer and as a foundation that evens out your skin tone and hides imperfections. This is your magic wand for camouflaging spots, blemishes, and pigmentation marks, giving your entire face an even appearance with a small amount. And best of all, thanks to the natural, mineral ingredients, you can achieve all of the above without irritating your skin (provided you are not sensitive to any of the natural ingredients).
AdvantagesOur 2-in-1 foundations are suitable for all skin types, especially skin that requires slightly higher coverage. Thanks to their compressed powder, you can easily carry the packaging with you to touch up on the go if needed.
DisadvantagesPressed powder foundations can possibly emphasize lines and wrinkles. This is quite minimal with the natural composition of Mineralissima, but a liquid or loose powder variant might be a better option for you.
Coverage and finishOur powder foundation can provide various levels of coverage. Our compact foundations have great coverage, often allowing you to be done with just one layer. The current formulation gives the skin a matte finish.
Shelf lifeThe compact foundations have a long wear time and generally look good on the skin all day. For oilier skin, or on sweaty days, you can optionally give a small touch-up if needed.
ApplicationTo apply a pressed powder foundation, you can use a kabuki brush, for example. Apply it evenly, focusing on the areas of the skin that produce excess sebum.
We hope this guide has been helpful, but if you have any questions, feel free to write to us or browse through the individual product pages to learn more about what each foundation does best. Easily try out the products using our testers to see which one works best for you.
