Step by step

Whether you are just starting with makeup, switching to a natural alternative or simply looking for a fresh, simple routine: mineral makeup gives your skin a beautiful, natural look. It does not have to be complicated, and you do not need to be a professional.

With a few gentle, thoughtful steps, you can help your skin look calmer, more even and more radiant. In a way that perfectly suits who you are.

What do you need?

You do not need much to get started. With a few products and the right brushes, you can go a long way:

The steps for a natural look

As we recommend it

1. Start with fresh, well-cared-for skin

Cleanse your face and apply a day cream if desired. Let the cream absorb well before continuing. Clean, dry skin helps the powders adhere and blend beautifully.

2. Apply a primer and first address specific areas

Before you start with concealer or color corrector, begin by applying a primer. This helps your makeup adhere better and last longer. Our primers have different functions tailored to your skin's needs:

  • Brightening Primer: Gives dull skin a fresh and healthy appearance
  • Soothing primer: Neutralizes overall redness in the face.
  • Rice Primer: Absorbs excess sebum and mattifies quickly shiny skin.
  • Mineral primer: Refines pores and evens out skin texture.

Apply the primer to cleansed and moisturized skin. Use your fingertips or a small brush to distribute it evenly, especially on areas where you tend to shine or where your makeup does not stay in place as well.

After that, you can target blemishes with a concealer or color corrector.

Do you have redness around your nose or chin, for example? A green color corrector is often exactly what you need (Foliage concealer). For dark circles, you can use a peach shade (Papaya concealer). And for a dull complexion, we recommend a pink shade (Rose concealer)

3. Apply your foundation

  • Take a small amount of powder into the lid of the jar. Swirl your brush in it so the product is distributed evenly.
  • Tap the excess powder from your brush and apply the foundation to your face using gentle, circular motions.
  • Work from the center toward the sides of your face. This creates even, natural-looking coverage.

Would you like a little more coverage? Apply another thin layer. Mineral makeup is perfect for building coverage without feeling heavy.

4. Conceal any unwanted blemishes

Do you have unwanted blemishes that the foundation does not fully cover? Concealer may be the solution for you.

We have concealers in different shades that match your skin tone and provide coverage wherever you want it, such as redness, dark circles or blemishes.

Use a small amount and blend it in with your fingertip or a concealer brush for a natural result. Apply color correctors before applying your foundation, or apply Skin Fix concealers after your foundation for extra coverage in specific areas.

Our favorites: Skin Fix concealer for a quick touch-up, or the Liquid Concealer medium if you want to brighten the area under your eyes a little more.

5. Finish with a finishing powder (Optional)

A finishing powder helps prevent your skin from becoming shiny and keeps your makeup looking beautiful all day.

Apply it lightly with a clean powder brush. This is especially useful as a final step if you have oilier skin. Our top picks for oilier skin: Rice Veil Intense Matte and Oil Control powder Medium, both made with rice powder.

6. Add color to your face with blush and bronzer

Blush and bronzer bring warmth, color and definition back to your face after applying foundation. Lightly apply blush to the apples of your cheeks and softly blend the color toward your temples. Start with a small amount and gradually build the color.

With bronzer, you can add extra warmth and definition to the areas where the sun naturally touches your face, such as your cheekbones, temples and along the hairline.

Browse our mineral blushes and bronzers and choose a shade that suits your skin tone and undertone.
